Karen Weekly is serving her first term as the Division I Representative and is entering her 10th season as the co-head coach at the University of Tennessee.
During their nine years at the helm of the Lady Volunteers, Weekly and her husband, Ralph, have led Tennessee to seven NCAA Tournament berths and four appearances in the Women's College World Series.
Under the Weekly's guidance, Tennessee has produced 33 All-SEC or All-Freshman selections, 30 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region honorees and 18 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Americans, including USA Women's National Team member Monica Abbott.
Before arriving in Knoxville, Weekly spent five years as the head coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and served as co-head coach along with husband Ralph for three of those years.
Weekly has a bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University, where she was both an athletic and an academic stand-out for the Lutes. She received NAIA All-American honors during her senior year and was also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American. Weekly was also a two-time recipient of Pacific Lutheran's distinguished Undergraduate Fellow/Division of Social Sciences award.
Following Pacific Lutheran, Weekly earned her juris doctor degree from the University of Washington. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice law in the states of Washington and Tennnessee. |
