George Wares is in his first term as the Division III Representative and is going into his 27th year as the head coach of the Central College (Iowa) Dutch.
In 26 seasons at the helm, the 2007 NFCA Hall of Fame inductee has piloted the Dutch to four national championships, 12 appearances in the national championship tournament and 22 NCAA Regional berths. His career record stands at an astonishing 870-294-3.
Central College, Wares' alma mater, is the only school he has ever coached at and he currently ranks second in Division III amongst active coaches in wins and leads Division III active coaches in play-off appearances and play-off wins (79).
After graduating from Central, Wares received his master's degree in counseling from Iowa State University and has served as a counselor for at-risk youth at Pella High School and as a academic counselor at Central. He is also a well-renowned and highly-respected motivational speaker.
