Patrick Murphy began his first term as the Second Vice President in January 2009 and is entering his 13th season as head coach at the University of Alabama.
Among the Southeastern Conference powers, Murphy has guided the Crimson Tide to 12 straight NCAA regional tournament berths and six appearances in the Women's College World Series, including the 2009 event.
In 2010, Murphy accomplished another first when he led Alabama to its first sweep of the SEC regular season and tournament titles in program history. After winning the Tuscaloosa Regional during the same year, the Tide has now won six straight region crowns under Murphy.
Before arriving at Alabama as an assistant in 1996, Murphy began his head coaching career with a one-year stint at Northwest Missouri State. Prior to Northwest Missouri State, Murphy spent four years as an assistant at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, while he earned his master's in mass communication. He is also a 1988 graduate of Northern Iowa where he a received a bachelor's degree in history education.
