Hildred Deese joined the NFCA in October of 2002 as the Director of Events and recently received a promotion to Senior Director–Events. Deese is responsible for administering the NFCA’s Recruiting Camps and handles all the logistical work for the NFCC.
Prior to coming to the NFCA, Deese spent five years with the Women’s Professional Softball League (now National Pro Fastpitch). She was the assistant general manager of the Tampa Bay Firestix and also served as the Director of Events for the league office in Denver.
Deese was a successful head coach on the collegiate level prior to her stint with the NPF. She won 387 fastpitch games as head coach at South Florida from 1985-96. She coached softball and volleyball at USF from 1979-1984, winning the AIAW slowpitch national championship in 1983.
Deese also coached at Judson (Ala.) College and in the Georgia high school ranks. A native of Dothan, Ala., Deese earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Troy State and received a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee.
