NFCA Hall of Fame Information
Nominations may be made by any NFCA member in good standing.
Nominations
should be submitted using the official
NFCA Hall of Fame
nomination form.

Eligible Nominees Must Meet
the Following Criteria: |
|
1. |
The nominee must have served as a head coach of
a high school, two-year or four-year college/university for a minimum of 15
years; or the nominee must have served as a head softball coach of a team
(ASA, or other governing softball organization) for a minimum of 15 years. |
|
2. |
The
nominee must have been an NFCA member in good standing for a minimum of six
years during her/his softball coaching career. |
|
3. |
The
nominee must have made contributions to the NFCA by serving on committees,
holding office, or serving in other capacities so delegated by the Executive
Board. |
|
4. |
The
nominee must have demonstrated:
A high professional standard of ethics, integrity, sportsmanship and
honesty.
Recognized excellence in softball coaching.
Service and leadership to the sport of softball.
The ideals and philosophy of the NFCA. |
Procedure/Requirements:
The following must be received by the
committee chair in order to complete the nomination: |

1. |
Completed the
NFCA Hall of Fame nomination form. |
|
2. |
Five
letters of recommendation in support of the nominee:
One from a current or former student-athlete who played for the nominee.
A minimum of two members of the institutions coaching or administrative staff
assistant coaches or coaches in other sports at the
institution
Two or more coaches who are NFCA members. |
|
3. |
Up-to-date resume. |
|
4. |
Additional letters may come from institutional colleagues, i.e. academic
advisor, sports information director, athletic trainer, etc. (optional). |
|
5. |
Additional newspaper clippings, media guides or other appropriate
information (optional). |
|
Pioneer Category Eligibility Requirements: |
|
1. |
The
nominee must have contributed to the sport of fastpitch softball through
service, leadership, participation and/or coaching for a minimum of 12
years. |
|
2. |
The
nominee must have demonstrated:
A high professional standard of ethics, integrity, sportsmanship and
honesty.
Service and leadership to the sport of softball.
The upholding of the ideals and philosophy of the NFCA. |
|
3. |
Four
letters of support:
One from an administrator; two from NFCA members and one other colleague |
|
4. |
Resume
or timeline of achievements. |
|
5. |
Other
information as appropriate (optional). |
Selection Procedures
The Chair of the Awards and Hall of Fame Committee will collect information and
distribute copies of each nomination file to committee members.
A conference call to review nominee files will take place prior to the
convention. At this time, a voting member should notify the chair if he/she is
unable to attend and vote at the convention. An absentee ballot will be
solicited by the chair for that member.
The chair will be responsible for setting up the conference call with approval
of the executive director.
