Terry Burdette of the Heartbreakers organization has been elected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Executive Board in the position of Travel Ball Group Representative. 

As the group representative, Burdette will represent the travel ball membership in the business of the NFCA. He will represent the group and report to the executive board, the membership and national softball committees concerns and recommendations of travel ball coaches. 

Burdette has coached the Heartbreakers Red Junior Olympic team since 1995, and he is currently the president of the Heartbreakers organization, which includes six teams competing at the 10U through 18U levels. 

During his career with Heartbreakers Red, Burdette has coached 30 players who went on to the collegiate level. His 2000 squad finished second at the PONY national championship tournament, and his 2002 edition claimed ninth-place honors at the ASA 18U A national tournament. Burdette holds a 407-205 career coaching record. 

A member of the association since 1995, he also conducts clinics in Maryland and Virginia. 

In addition to his Heartbreakers coaching duties, he also assisted the program at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. From 1999-2002 he served as assistant coach at Walkersville High School, winning a Maryland 2A state title in his first season. 

Burdette and his wife Barbara live in Frederick and have six children.
