Montclair State pitcher Carolyn McCrea has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week ending March 18, the association announced Wednesday.

McCrea picked up all five victories for MSU in a 5-1 week for the Red Hawks at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. Posting a 5-0 mark, McCrea pitched 34 innings, allowing 22 hits and four runs (three earned). McCrea struck out 33 and walked just six while posting an ERA of 0.62.

The junior from Wharton, N.J., opened the week by fanning five and allowing nine hits and two runs in a 5-2 win over Wheaton (MA). After striking out six in a four-inning relief stint vs. Keene State, McCrea tossed the first of her three shutouts on the week, allowing five hits while striking two in a 1-0 win over Illinois College. She then tossed back-to-back one-hitters in wins over Ohio Wesleyan and Albion College before finishing out the week with a complete-game win over New England College.
