Coach, your player's off-season is your time to be in-season - in the classroom, learning new drills, new philosophies, and making connections to enhance your softball coaching skills. The NFCA is inviting YOU, whether you're a new softball coach or seasoned veteran, to come learn from the top coaches in our game at an NFCA Coaches Clinic presented by GameChanger. Each softball coaching clinic features five outstanding clinicians who will share ideas, drills, strategies, player-development, techniques and much more.
Curious to know what it's like to attend a clinic? First, with eight regional clinics in seven locations, along with 40 speakers, there's sure to be a clinic fit for you. These jam-packed, two-day events will leave you hungry to get back on the field with your student-athletes. With so much information being shared, there's a chance you might experience a hand cramp (or two) from taking copious notes!
All clinics follow the same format. The event starts on a Friday afternoon, with the first speaker kicking things off at 1 pm local time. The format includes rotating speaker sessions, breaks to visit with exhibitors, a Q & A panel with the speakers and a social hour of networking and fun. Every speaker is available throughout the two-day event to answer your specific questions and share their insights about the game. Not to mention, we give away a LOT of free equipment thanks to our sponsors and exhibitors. Our expert speakers bring you their best, with topics ranging from "Outfield Skills & Drills" to "Recruiting Truths & Myths" to "Increasing Offensive Efficiency" and SO. MUCH. MORE. And did we mention, you're home for dinner on Saturday night? These clinics go by in the blink of an eye, but we guarantee you will leave with new knowledge, connections, and a desire to draw up new softball practice plans to hit the ground running this Spring.
Each clinic features five (and sometimes more with special guests!) speakers. The 2023-2024 speaker lineup is made up of four NFCA Hall of Famers, 11 national champions (coach or player), two coaches with over 1,000 career wins, including the winningest coach in NCAA history, Carol Hutchins (Michigan, 1,707).
The NFCA is intentional in its selection of speakers, ensuring that each clinic location has a wide array of expertise, covering all facets of the game, both on and off the field. From softball hitting drills to fielding, to pitching and catching, the mental game, culture, indoor drills, fundraising, recruiting, you name it, we have your bases covered.
We have heard time and time again from our speakers that they enjoy the clinics just as much as the attendees. The conversations, connections, and development that happen off the stage are what makes these clinics so valuable.
And who doesn't love FREE equipment?! In between speakers, the NFCA gives away a TON of free gear and equipment. Every attendee receives a blue raffle ticket (Pro tip: take a picture of your ticket as soon as you get it) which enters them into our drawings. At each clinic, exhibitors from around the country come to showcase their newest products and services. Typically there can be anywhere from 10 to 25 companies at a single clinic. With a wide variety of products, you'll want to ensure you take advantage of those designated breaks to shop and connect with those companies in attendance. You can often find excellent deals and discounts during a clinic weekend, too! From local vendors to national brands, there's something for everyone in the Exhibit Hall.
An experience unique to an NFCA Coaches Clinic is the Friday evening live Q & A, and the Social Hour to follow. During the live Q & A, attendees have the open floor to ask all five speakers a question! You may have a question from a session earlier in the day, or maybe you always wanted to ask a Coach about their secret sauce to winning championships? This is your opportunity! Our speakers are always authentic and share their different perspectives and experiences.
Immediately following the live Q & A is a 90-minute Social Hour. With light drinks and snacks, attendees are able to mix and mingle with each other, the five speakers, and exhibitors. You never know, the connections you make at a clinic could last a lifetime.
