"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." - 1972
As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Title IX it is our privilege to bring you a series of interviews, stories, and statistics to both celebrate the milestone and continue pushing gender equity forward. We know that while women's athletics has grown exponentially since 1972 there is still much work to be done to achieve equality in terms of rights, benefits, obligations, and opportunities for female athletes and programs.
We invite you to interact with the graphic below by hovering over the + signs to access interviews and more. You will also find more information on the NFCA's pursuit of gender equity below. Please join the initiative and help be the change for this and future generations of female athletes.

BEYOND THE RIVALRY
On October 25, 2021 the Kaplan Hecker law firm (KHF) released phase II of their gender equity report as part of their comprehensive and thorough review of gender equity issues in connection with the NCAA. For Phase II, which was conducted over the course of approximately three months, KHF was asked to assess gender disparities in the experiences of male and female student-athletes at the NCAA’s 84 other championships, for which more than 500,000 student-athletes, across 23 sports and three divisions, strive to qualify. The phase II report looks at NCAA championships through a broader lens, identifying patterns or trends in the ways in which the NCAA’s policies, practices, and culture around gender equity impact the student-athlete championship experience, as well as highlighting factors that can lead to more equitable championships.
