2015 Louisville Slugger/NFCA
NAIA ALL-AMERICA SELECTION PROCEDURES
Only National Fastpitch Coaches Association member head coaches in good standing with the NFCA can vote for the All-Region Teams. One vote per coach/school may be cast. If there is a school with co-head coaches, only one vote will be allowed. Coaches may nominate, but may not vote for their own players. A coach who nominates, but does not submit a ballot renders his/her players ineligible for selection to the All-Region and hence, All-American team. The nomination ballot will only be counted if submitted by the deadline.
Each region will have First and Second All-Region Teams comprised of at least 12 players per team and not exceeding 16 players per team: one player for each position including designated player and utility. The remaining five players may duplicate any position. For example, after one player is chosen for each of the ten positions, the other six student-athletes may be from any position (i.e., three pitchers, two shortstops, and two outfielders, etc.).
An online form will be available to nominate a player for NAIA All-American and All-Region recognition. To access online nomination area:
1) Log in using your username (your email) and your NFCA password. (This password is not available to the NFCA staff so you must get it by clicking on the “Forgot your password” link.
2) Once logged in, click “My Coaches Box.” Then, click on the all-region/all-American link then follow the prompts from there.
A player must be named to an NAIA All-Conference First Team in order to be eligible for the NAIA All-Region and All-American teams. Postseason statistics are not required. The deadline to submit online nominations is May 11, 2014. The ballot will be available on May 14 and the last day to vote for your All-Region team is May 21. When All-Region voting results in a tie between two players, both players will receive the award.
A coach may not exceed eight nominations from his/her own team. If a player plays more than one position, the player is limited to a nomination of only one position. For example, if a pitcher also plays first base, she is only eligible for either pitcher or first base.
In order for a designated player to be considered for All-Region/All-America recognition at the designated player position, the player must have played in the designated player position in half or 50% of all games played by her team. For a pitcher to be considered for All-Region/All-America nomination, they must pitch in at least 33% of the games played by her team. A defensive player must participate in 50% of games at the specified position to be considered for All-America recognition.
The selection committee will consider each region's first team All-Region selections in determining the first and second team All-Americans, each team composed of a maximum of 16 players. The first team receives a trophy and the second team receives certificates.
