INFO & APPLICATION >
2015 NJCAA I ALL-AMERICAN SELECTION PROCEDURES
Only National Fastpitch Coaches Association member head coaches in good standing with the NFCA can vote for the All-Region Teams. One vote per coach/school may be cast. If there is a school with co-head coaches, only one vote will be allowed. Coaches may nominate but may not vote for their own players. A coach, who nominates but does not submit a ballot, renders her/his players ineligible for selection to the all-region and hence, all-America team. The nomination form and ballot will only be counted if submitted by the deadline. Please complete all statistical information in order for your nomination & ballot to be considered valid.
Each region will have First and Second All-Region Teams comprised of 5 Battery (3 pitchers & 2 catchers), 5 Infielders (not selected by position), 4 Outfielders, 1 DP and 1 Utility. All-region selections receive a certificate.
To nominate, go to the NFCA Web site at http://www.nfca.org and put in your NFCA username (your email) and your NFCA password. There is a link to click for those who have forgotten your password. (This password is not available to the NFCA staff so you must get it by clicking on the “Forgot your password” link. Once logged in, click on “MY COACHES BOX.” Then, click on all-region/all-American and follow the prompts from there.
A player must be named to the NFCA all-region team in order to be eligible for the all-America team. Postseason statistics are not required. The deadline to submit online nominations is May 5, 2015. The ballot will be available on May 11 and the last day to vote for the all-region teams is May 19. When all-region voting results in a tie between two players, both players will receive the award.
A coach may not exceed five (5) nominations from his/her own team. If a player plays more than one position, the player is limited to a nomination for only one position. For example, if a pitcher also plays first base, she is only eligible for either pitcher or first base.
In order for a designated player to be considered for all-region recognition at the designated player, the player must have played in the designated player position in half or 50% of all games played by her team. For a pitcher to be considered for all-region nomination, she must pitch in at least 40% of the games played by her team. A defensive player must participate in 60% of games at the specified position to be considered for all-region recognition.
In order for a utility to be considered for all-region at the utility, the player must have played at least two or more positions with not more than 60% of playing time at one position. Breakdown should be indicated on the nominating form (Example: 10/SS, 12/OF, 14/DP; summary of 36 games, three positions played). Defensive stats for each position played must be provided.
The selection committee will consider each region’s first team all-region selections in determining the first, second, and third team all-Americans, each team composed of 16 players. The first team receives a trophy and the second and third teams receive certificates.
