NFCA Convention Headed to Tucson

2006 NFCA Convention Information

The J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona, has been selected as the site of the 2006 NFCA National Convention, December 6-9.

Cradled in the Tucson Mountains, the resort will provide a beautiful backdrop for the NFCA’s annual meeting. Only minutes from the area’s most popular visitor sites and Tucson International Airport, the resort offers hiking, swimming, tennis and golf, all on the resort property. In addition, the 88,000 square feet of meeting space will provide the setting for the convention’s busy meeting schedule.

The convention kicks off Dec. 3 with National Fastpitch Coaches College courses 406: Team Management/Game-Day Coaching and 403: Position Play and Practice.

The pre-convention seminar takes place Dec. 5, while the golf and tennis tournaments officially kick off the convention Dec. 6.

The annual exhibitor show will begin showcasing the newest products available for the sport Dec. 7, the same day of the Easton Victory Club Luncheon honoring coaches who reached milestone victories in 2006.

The Speedline Coaching Staff of the Year/NFCA Hall of Fame Banquet, in which the coaching staffs of the year will be honored along with Hall of Fame inductees Sue Enquist of UCLA, Carol Hutchins of Michigan and Clyde Washburn of Eastern Connecticut State, will be held Dec. 8.

The annual gathering will conclude Dec. 9 with the closing business meeting and the first day of post-convention NFCC Course 402: Advanced Analysis of Individual Fundamental Skills. It runs through Dec. 11.

Hotel reservations can be made today by calling 800/228-9290 or (520) 792-3500. Ask for rooms in the NFCA block.
