Thirty-two players have been named to the 2005 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NAIA All-America first and second teams. The awards were announced Friday, with both teams being selected by NFCA-member NAIA coaching representatives, based on nominations from the 2005 season.

National runner-up California Baptist University led the way with three first team selections, including sophomore pitcher Candice Thomas, senior shortstop Kristen Hernandez and junior utility player Tami Trujillo. In addition to hitting .364 on the season, Thomas won 33 games for the Lancers, posting a 0.42 ERA in 232 innings pitched. Hernandez and Trujillo led California Baptist offensively, each finishing 2005 with a batting average higher than .400.

National champion Simon Fraser (B.C.) was also well-represented on the NFCA All-America squads. Pitcher Ashley Lanz, who led the Clan to an undefeated post-season, was given All-America honors, along with teammate Rachel Schill.

Mobile had four players named to All-America teams. Infielder Mayret Perez earned a first team selection while pitcher Linden Jones, catcher Meredith Tanner and outfielder Evelyn Pare were each named to the second team.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association awards more than 300 first, second and third team All-Americans in NCAA Divisions I, II and III as well as in NAIA, NJCAA, California Community Colleges, Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges and high school.
