NCAA Division II National Tournament Begins Next Week

The NCAA Division II championship begins next week, with eight, six-team regionals taking place on campus sites. The regional winners will square off at the NCAA Division II Softball Championship, being held May 19-23 in Salem, Va. 

The NCAA Division II Softball Committee released Wednesday its regional rankings, which will assist in making selections for the field of 48 teams. 

Conference champions that have already clinched automatic berths are Coker (CVAC), Elizabeth City State (CIAA), St. Mary's (Heartland), Hawaii-Hilo (Pac West), Columbus State (Peach Belt), Shippensburg (PSAC), Carson-Newman (SAC) and Albany State (SIAC). Other conference tournaments are being played this weekend across the nation.
