The NFCA has announced that the University of Houston will host National Fastpitch Coaches College Course 407 - Cases in Coaching. The course will be offered Oct. 29-31, 2004 at the Athletics/Alumni Center, and will be the first class offered in the 2004-05 season.

Participants enrolled in the course will study a wide variety of scenarios. Staff, athlete performance, personnel management, outside influence, character and personal issues will be presented for analysis and discussion in this unique course.

The course will also allow participants an opportunity to present personal cases for discussion. Through participation in the course, perspectives will be broadened, philosophies will be examined and challenged, and one's repertoire of responses to situations will be increased.

The instructors for the course include Laurie Soltman, a specialist in communications and life skills programming, Dianne Baker, head coach at Texas Woman's University, Ken Revizza, a sports psychologist and professor at Cal State Fullerton, and former Northwestern coach and director of the NFCC Sharon Drysdale.

The cost of the three-day course is $225 for NFCA members and $250 for non-NFCA members. Participants can save $25 by registering at least 14 days in advance. For more information, coaches can contact the NFCA at 662/320-2155 or Kyla Holas at 713/743-9339.
