Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week

Amanda Kent, St. John Fisher College, has been named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week of April 6-12.

Kent, a senior shortstop from Horseheads, N.Y., batted .786 with a slugging percentage of 1.500 in four games this week. Her 11 hits came in 11 consecutive at bats. In game two against then-5-5 conference opponent Utica College, she capped a 3-3 day with a walk-off homerun, her second of the doubleheader. She homered in her next at-bat to open against 10-2 DÕYouville College and finished that game 3-3 with four runs scored. For the week, she had eight assists and seven putouts against one error, playing shortstop for the first time in her college career (All-Region OF in 2002). For the season, she is batting .475 with 16 runs scored and 18 RBIs in 17 games with an .803 slugging percentage. Fisher is 12-4-1. She was also named Empire 8 Player of the Week for the same week.
