Grand Canyon hired Ann Pedersen as its first-ever head softball coach. The program is set to begin competition in the spring of 2004. Pedersen previously served as an assistant coach at Arizona State from 1994-2001.

Southeast Missouri State added Tami Herbert as an assistant softball coach. Herbert, a four-year starter at Southeast Missouri State, served as a student assistant coach at SEMO. She spent last season as a graduate assistant at Southwest State.

Shelby Howell named as an assistant softball coach at Akron. Howell is an Akron softball alum and was named 1997 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. She most recently served as head softball coach at Los Angeles City College.

Delaware selected Carolyn Wasilewski as a graduate assistant softball coach. Wasilewski is a 2001 graduate of the school and was a four-year starter at shortstop.

Newbury named Peter Hochman as head softball coach. Hochman served as an assistant at Cortland State from 1995-99.

Keri Kubala hired as an assistant softball coach at George Washington.

Roanoke added Russell Gaddy and Barry Wood as assistant coaches.
