College of Staten Island named Stella Porto head softball coach.

Minnesota-Crookston named Ryan Anderson head softball coach.

Bucknell added Stacey Schramm and Suzanne Scheef as assistant coaches.

Cristina Cuadros hired as an assistant softball coach at Nova Southeastern.

Creighton announced the hiring of assistant coach Leticia Pineda-Boutte' and graduate assistant coachJessica Draemel. A three-time All-American at Arizona (1996-98), Pineda-Boutte' worked with the U.S. AirForce Academy club softball team last year and previous served as interim head coach at Colorado-Colorado Springs. Draemel is a 2002 graduate of Stanford and was a member of the Cardinal's national third-place team in 2001.

Kentucky hired Kelly Kretschman as an assistant coach. Kretschman, who spent the past two seasons as a student assistant at Alabama, was a four-time All-American at Alabama and was an alternate on the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team.

South Florida promoted Stacy Nichols to associate head coach. Nichols has served as an assistant coach at USF for the past six years.

Massachusetts assistant coach Danielle Henderson was inducted into the New England Women's Sports Hall of Fame. Henderson was a three-time All-American at UMass and was a member of the 2000 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic Team. She was the winner of the Honda Award for softball in 1999.

Ocean County College head softball coach Ilene Cohen is among four inductees into the College of New Jersey Athletic Hall of Fame. As a player at TCNJ (then Trenton State), Cohen earned All-America honors and was a member of the Lions' 1987 NCAA Division III national championship team.

Angela Scharnhorst was hired as an assistant coach at North Texas. Scharnhorst, a two-year letterwinner and 1999 graduate at Texas, served as lead instructor and owner of Austin Fastpitch.

Columbia University assistant coach Kayla Noonan has been promoted to interim head coach for the 2002-03 academic year. Noonan has been with the program since its inception in 2000-01. She replacesChristine Vogt, who left in August to accept an assistant coaching position at Central Michigan.

Alverno named Heather Burtman as head softball coach, assistant basketball coach and sports information director. Alverno also announced Kay Wolferstetter as assistant softball coach and head volleyball coach.

Six schools have been announced as charter members of the Pacific Coast Softball Conference. The six schools are Loyola Marymount, Portland State, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's (Calif.), San Diego and Santa Clara.
