Northwood hired Gary Edwards as an assistant coach. Edwards compiled a record of 369-143-3 in 14 years as head coach at Sanford Meridian High School (Mich.). He is a member of the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

East Carolina promoted Natalie Kozlowski to assistant softball coach. Kozlowski has spent the past two seasons as a volunteer assistant at ECU.

Christine Hornak selected as pitching coach at Campbell. Hornak, who has spent the past two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Greensboro, was a two-time All-Trans Atlantic Conference pitcher at Campbell (1994-95).

Eastern College Athletic Conference named Jim Craig softball officiating coordinator for Western New York.

Bill Gray named as senior assistant coach at Kennesaw State. Gray, who spent the past six seasons as head coach at Francis Marion, replaces Don McKinlay, who stepped down in June.

North Texas announced the hiring of Stacey Segal as its first-ever head softball coach. Segal spent the past four seasons as head coach at Navarro (Junior) College. North Texas will begin competing in the spring of 2004.

Frenchy Nix resigned as assistant softball coach at Creighton.

Long Beach State hired Michele Bailon as an assistant coach. Bailon has served as an assistant coach for Cypress (Junior) College and USA Athletics last season.

Dallas promoted assistant softball coach Marie Thomas to head coach. She succeeds Venera Flores, who was promoted to assistant athletics director.

Christian Brothers head softball coach Donna Crone awarded additional responsibilities as senior woman administrator.

Armstrong Atlantic State added Ansley Paschal as a graduate assistant softball coach. Paschal was a four-year starter and a member of Armstrong Atlantic State's 1998 inaugural team.

Jacksonville added Brooke Adams-Franquet as an assistant coach and Kimmy Carter as a volunteer assistant coach. Adams-Franquet previously served as an assistant at Central Florida Community College. Carter was the starting catcher for Florida State in 2002. Jacksonville will begin its first season of fastpitch softball in 2003.

Lawrence head softball coach Kim Tatro promoted to director of athletics. Tatro, who will continue to serve as head softball coach, had been an associate athletics director.

Alma head softball coach Denny Griffin resigned as the school's athletics director. He will continue his duties as head softball coach.

Joyce McMillin added as an assistant coach at Bethune-Cookman. A two-time All-SEC selection at South Carolina (1997-2000), McMillin is the Gamecocks' all-time home run leader.

Iowa hired Michelle Venturella as an assistant coach. Venturella was a catcher on the gold medal-winning 2000 U.S. Olympic team and has been working as a private instructor in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Washburn hired Lisa Carey as head softball coach. A 2001 graduate of Oklahoma, Carey was a three-time All-American and a member of the Sooners' 2000 national championship team.

Southwest Texas State named Jessica Wimpy softball assistant.

Jaime Klein hired as head softball coach at Independence Community College. Klein previously served as a graduate assistant at Northwest Missouri State.

Manhattan named Lois J. Kahl head softball coach.

Northern Iowa promoted assistant coach Christy Hebert to head coach. She succeeds Sara Hayes, who was named head coach at Indiana.

Gina Battista resigned as head coach at Staten Island.

LeTourneau named Sheron Schoon as head coach.

Susan Punzo selected as head coach at Northwest Missouri State. For the past two seasons, Punzo has served as assistant athletics director and head softball coach at Dakota State.

Pacific (Oregon) named Tim Hill as head coach. Hill has been head coach at George Fox for the past two seasons.

Debby Day was hired as assistant athletics director, senior woman administrator and head softball coach at Cal Lutheran. Day has been head softball coach and a special education teacher at Burbank High School (Calif.)since 1997.

Bonnie Benson selected as head coach at Mount Ida.

Maryland added former Terrapin centerfielder Michelle Burrell as an assistant coach. An All-ACC and All-Region selection in 2001, she served as a volunteer assistant last season.

Liz Kelly resigned as NFCA Director of Events. Kelly, who joined the NFCA staff in September 2001, was in charge of the NFCA recruiting camps and assisted with the National Fastpitch Coaches College.

Mobile hired 1994 alum and former assistant coach Becky Clark as head softball coach. Clark has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Okaloosa-Walton Community College. She replaces Mark Brooks, who stepped down after one season as head coach to pursue other opportunities.

Okaloosa-Walton Community College named Erin Cramer as an assistant coach. Cramer has spent the past four years at Pine Forest High School (Pensacola, Fla.).

Central Michigan announced the hiring of Christine Vogt as an assistant coach. Vogt spent the past three seasons as the first-ever head varsity softball coach at Columbia University.

Tusculum hired Lee Dobbins as assistant softball coach.

Nancy Oestrike resigned as head coach at Eastern Michigan. Oestrike spent the past six seasons as head coach at EMU, her alma mater.

Humboldt State named Megan Corriea assistant softball coach. Corriea, who served as a graduate assistant last season, is a 2001 graduate of Humboldt State and played centerfield for the Lumberjacks.

Jay Miller hired as head softball coach at Mississippi State. Miller had spent the past 15 seasons at Missouri. One of six finalists for the U.S. National Team head coaching position at the 2004 Olympics, Miller guided USA Softball Elite to the silver medal at this summer's Canada Cup.

Kevin Proffitt was hired as head softball coach at Randolph-Macon.

Drexel named Terry DeTuro as head softball coach. DeTuro was an assistant at Monmouth and previously served as head coach at Virginia, Georgian Court and Ocean County College.

Rutgers-Newark selected Al Fesco as head coach.

Steve Pike was added as head softball and head women's volleyball coach at Potsdam State. Pike has been as an assistant coach since 1997 and has spent the past year as interim head coach.

Southern Colorado announced the resignation of head coach Marty Blowers. Blowers has spent the past six years as the school's head softball coach.

Lori Cook was hired as an assistant softball coach at Texas-San Antonio.

Mount St. Mary's selected Shana Gary as an assistant softball coach. Gary is a 2002 graduate of Iona, where she was a member of the softball team.

Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPUI) named Kathy Berlin assistant softball coach for the 2002-03 season. Berlin served as head junior varsity softball coach at Zionsville High School (Ind.).

UNC Pembroke announced Steve Johnson as head coach. Johnson spent the past two seasons as an assistant softball coach/graduate assistant at South Dakota State.
