Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of the Week

Louisiana State pitcher Britni Sneed is the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of the Week for the week of April 15-21.

Sneed, a senior from Houston, Texas, posted a 4-0 record with a 0.97 ERA. She reached double-figures in strikeouts in each of her four games, including a 16-strikeout performance in a nine-inning win over Northwestern State, and a pair of 15-strikeout games against Kentucky (the second game in eight innings). She also pitched a five-inning no-hitter against Southern Mississippi, her third no-hitter of the season, a new school record. During one stretch, Sneed recorded at least one strikeout in 24 consecutive innings. Her 57 strikeouts last week give her 1,210 for her career, moving Sneed into seventh place on the Division I all-time strikeout list.

LSU jumped two places to No. 3 in this week's USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25.
