Paul Caufield assumed additional duties as head softball coach at Wisconsin-Stevens Point, succeeding Karl Nienhuis. Caufield is in his second season as the school's head men's hockey coach.

Wisconsin-Stevens Point named Kelly Rutta as an assistant coach.

North Dakota State announced the resignation of head softball coach Mitch Hanson. Assistant coachDarren Mueller has been named interim head coach. Hanson guided North Dakota State to the 2000 NCAA Division II national championship. North Dakota State was named the 2000 Speedline/NFCA Division II National Coaching Staff of the Year.

Nevada named Michelle Gardner as head softball coach. Nevada is scheduled to begin competition in softball in 2003. Gardner has been an assistant coach at Arizona State since 1999.

Dean Herman was appointed as a volunteer assistant coach at Edgewood

Ben Lipson was hired as an assistant coach at Lipscomb.

Nichols selected Mark Moynihan as head softball coach and equipment manager. Moynihan comes to Nichols from Southern Connecticut State, where he spent the past six years as an assistant softball coach and the past four years as head football equipment manager.

Middle Tennessee State named Cindy Connelley as head coach. For the past three years, Connelley has coached at Tennessee State.

Ernie Reynolds assumed duties as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State. Reynolds has been a volunteer assistant at Tennessee State and an assistant at the high-school level.
