ASA Women's Major National Tournament

The Phoenix Storm posted a pair of shutouts over the previously undefeated California Hurricanes to win the 2001 ASA Women's Major Fastpitch National Championship Saturday at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix, Ariz. The Storm defeated the Hurricanes 8-0 in the first championship game, then shut out the Hurricanes 2-0 to win the championship.

Phoenix Storm pitcher Keira Goerl won the Bertha Tickey Award as the outstanding pitcher of the tournament. Her teammate Courtney Scott won the Erv Lind Award as the top defensive player. Jaime Clark of Team Texas was the tournament's home run leader, while Veronica Marmitt of Avantis was the tournament batting champion.
