NFCA Coaches Look to "Strike Out Cancer"
"Strike Out Cancer" is a group effort with NFCA member coaches choosing one home game to promote as Strike Out Cancer Night.
Suggestions for ways to handle the event include: taking gate proceeds for that game and donating them to your local American Cancer society (ACS), taking a collection of donations from fans at the game and donating that amount to the local ACS unit, hosting a raffle on game day, taking pledges for strike outs, or using concession profits for the day as the donation to the local American Cancer society group.
The main idea is to make it easy on your team and get any amount of money to donate to the local station. Report the amount you donated to the NFCA and we will post it on our web site and in Fastpitch Delivery. We will also make a report to turn in to the National American Cancer Society offices.
Please contact Alisa Davis at the NFCA office for additional assistance in beginning your one-day event to help "Strike Out Cancer", to declare your commitment to the event or to report your donation amount.
