WCWS Game 3 Most-Watched Series Game Ever

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The June 6 ESPN2 telecast of the deciding game of the 2007 NCAA Women’s College World Series between Arizona and Tennessee averaged 1,676,000 households and a 1.8 rating, making it the most-viewed NCAA WCWS game on ESPN or ESPN2.

Arizona won its second consecutive NCAA Division I softball title with a 5-0 victory in the third game of the WCWS championship finals.

The 1.8 rating is tied for ESPN and ESPN2’s highest-rated softball telecast with the deciding game of the 2005 WCWS between Michigan and UCLA, which was also the previous most-viewed with 1,644,000 households.

ESPN2’s Game two telecast of the NCAA WCWS championship finals averaged 1,449,000 households and a 1.5 rating, making it the network’s second most-viewed and second highest-rated WCWS game ever.

ESPN2’s three-game championship finals coverage averaged 1,363,000 households and a 1.5 rating, making it the most-viewed and highest-rated championship final ever. The three-game average also saw a households and ratings increase of 57% (vs. 867,000) and 50% (vs. 1.0), respectively, over last year’s two-game NCAA WCWS championship final average on ESPN2.
