NPF Names New President

National Pro Fastpitch has announced the appointment of Patrick J. Linden as league president. Linden, a Denver-based attorney with the commercial law firm of Kamlet Shepherd & Reichert, LLP, succeeds Bill Conroy, owner of the Chicago Bandits.

Linden previously acted as general counsel for the NPF team owners’ group (NPF owners) and negotiated the purchase of the third-year league from prior management in December, 2004.

Subsequent to the transition of league leadership to the NPF owners, Linden served as principal architect in forming the present NPF structure and implementing new league bylaws, the governing contract among the NPF owners concerning league sponsors, merchandise and revenue sharing, broadcast and intellectual property rights, player contracts, etc.

Linden’s professional training is grounded primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, venture capital finance and securities law. He also represents professional and amateur athletic organizations, and he frequently negotiates National Football League (NFL) and endorsement contracts for professional football players and skiers, respectively.

Linden’s role as president will include the negotiation of NPF contracts, formulation of league policies, decision-making authority on league governance issues, oversight of rule compliance by NPF owners and related matters.
