NPF Announces Additional Stop on "Back to School Tour" Presented by USSSA

NPF Back To School TourNASHVILLE, Tenn. - National Pro Fastpitch announced today the NPF Back to School College Tour presented by USSSA will make an additional stop in southern California in November. The final stop added to the 2010 schedule will be at Mount San Antonio College located in Walnut, Calif. The NPF squad will play Mt. SAC on November 11 at 6:00 p.m.

“The goal of the tour was to expose audiences across the country to professional softball and to expose them to our extraordinary athletes. We have had San Diego State University on the schedule all along, but they were our only southern California location. It seemed disappointing to not get a little closer to the hotbed of fastpitch softball in Orange County while we were on the west coast. Kelly Ford always puts a good team on the field at Mt. SAC and she and Mt. SAC were gracious enough to add us at late notice.”

The NPF Back to School College Tour presented by USSSA kicked off on September 10th in Memphis, Tenn., against the University of Memphis. Since that day, the NPF has played 16 games against various college teams in 14 cities across the United States. 8 games and 6 stops remain including the Mt. SAC date. So far, Team NPF has faced Memphis, Ole Miss, Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri Western, Nebraska, Arizona, New Mexico St., Texas-El Paso, New Mexico, Oklahoma St., Oklahoma, Tulsa, Georgia, and South Carolina and remains unbeaten.

“This tour has garnered a lot of attention and has reached above our expectations. Our goal was to reach out to college softball fans who are educated in the sport and to let them know that professional fastpitch not only exists, but provides an entertaining game with the best athletes the sport has to offer” commented Kempf. “The athletes who have been on the your have represented NPF so well. It is always a privilege to share these quality athletes and individuals with an audience who appreciates their talents.”

The NPF Back to School College Tour presented by USSSA continues on through November with games against Chipola JC, Florida St., Florida, Texas, Mt. SAC, San Diego St., and Daytona Beach CC. NPF will wrap up its inaugural schedule on November 15 at Daytona Beach, kicking off the beginning of the USSSA annual convention held this year at the Daytona Beach Hilton.
