Outstanding Players from the Week of Feb. 14-20

Paula Garman, Oklahoma State, Sophomore, Outfield., Batted .389 last week, with seven hits in 18 at-bats. Scored six runs, had seven RBI and two home runs in six games. Had a .722 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage. Also had a perfect fielding percentage in the outfield. One home run was a two-run shot in a 2-1 win over Tulsa.

Lindsay Gardner, Texas, Freshman, Second Base. Individual Highlights for the Week: Had the second-highest batting average among all participants in the Texas Invitational (.474). Led the tournament in hits with nine. Went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Texas' first matchup of the weekend with South Florida (Feb. 18). Went 2-for-4 in the Horns' first matchup with No. 2 Washington. In that game UW pitcher Jennifer Spediacci only allowed four total hits.

Kristen Hunter, Fresno State, Sophomore, Pitcher/Designated Player.Helped Fresno State to a 4-1 tourney record at the SDSU Campbell-Cartier Classic. Led the Bulldogs at the plate after batting .385 (5-13) over the weekend. Led the team in hits (5), total bases (6) and slugging percentage (.462), was hit by pitch and had a sacrifice. In the circle, Hunter went 2-0 with two shutouts while giving up four hits, one run and striking out 11 in 13.2 innings of work for a 0.00 ERA. Hunter picked up 1-0 shutout victories over Arkansas and Sacramento State.

Ashlee Dobbe, Virginia Tech, Sophomore, Pitcher. At the UNC/Triangle Classic in Raleigh, NC, Dobbe was 2-1 in 4 appearances, three starts. She pitched 24 innings, struck out 41, allowed no earned runs and just seven hits. Against Youngstown State, she struck 18 (17 in a row) in throwing a one-hitter. She struck out 12 against North Carolina-Charlotte in a two-hitter. Opponents are batting .092 against her. She was named to the All-Tournament team.

Kellie Wilkerson, Mississippi State, Sophomore, Outfield.  Hit .615 (8-for-13) with three home runs, two triples, one double, five walks, seven RBI and eight runs scored. Was named MSU Bulldog Classic Tournament MVP in a unanimous selection (Six voters). In five tournament games, she had a 1.692 slugging percentage and was named SEC Player of the Week.

Amy Farmer, Missouri, Senior, Catcher.  Batted .625 (5-for-8) with two doubles, two RBI, 14 putouts, 1 assist, no errors in three games.
