STARKVILLE, Miss. – Junior pitcher Keilani Ricketts of eighth-ranked Oklahoma has been named as the Louisville Slugger Division I National Player of the Week for games played Feb. 27-March 4.

The junior from San Jose, Calif., put up monster numbers last week by going 4-0 with a save in five appearances. Ricketts struck out at least 10 batters in each of her four starts and fanned six of seven in her save against Iowa. For the week, she allowed just eight hits, five walks and two earned runs to finish the five-game stretch with 0.46 ERA, 54 strikeouts and a .081 opponent’s batting average.

With two shutouts this week, Ricketts now has five on the season and her four 10-plus strikeout performances over the five-game stretch brings her season total in that category up to nine. For the year, Ricketts is currently 8-3 with a 1.12 ERA and 132 strikeouts.

This week’s award marks the second National Player of the Week honor of Ricketts’ career, having previously earned the award on May 10 of last season.

With five wins last week, the Sooners (14-3) will look to keep their win-streak alive when they host Austin Peay, Indiana and Wichita State.
