Texas A&M-Kingsville 2, Texas Woman's 1

Amanda Sustaita led off the top of the seventh with a single and eventually scored the game-winning run on an error to lift Texas A&M-Kingsville past Texas Woman's. TAMU-Kingsville broke a scoreless tie in the fourth on Tracy Guadarrama's two-out rbi-double. Texas Woman's answered in the bottom of the sixth when Cathy Jacobson doubled with one out and eventually scored on Leslie Roddy's sacrifice fly. TAMU-Kingsville pitcher Maria Gutierrez tossed a four-hitter and recorded nine strikeouts, including three in the final inning. Texas A&M-Kingsville advances to Sunday's Gold Bracket Championship Game, while Texas Woman's is eliminated from the tournament.

Kennesaw State 9, Regis 1 (5 innings)

Melissa Vansant's two-run single was part of an eight-run second inning as Kennesaw State defeated Regis. Five Kennesaw State batters walked in the inning, with four of the walks and all eight runs scored with two outs. Heather Birch, who drove in two runs, pitched a four-hitter. Kennesaw State advances to the Gold Bracket Championship Game, while Regis is eliminated from the tournament.

Gold Bracket - Consolation Semifinal

Texas Wesleyan 7, Tarleton State 5

Stacey Dean hit a two-run homer and Maria McGee drove in three runs as Texas Wesleyan rallied from a four-run deficit to defeat Tarleton State. Marcie Villa's two-run double sparked a four-run first inning for Tarleton State, but Texas Wesleyan cut the lead in half with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first on McGee's two-run single. After Tarleton State added a run in the third, Dean hit a two-run homer in the fourth to cut the lead to 5-4. Brandi Williams' two-run triple in the fifth put Texas Wesleyan ahead to stay. Texas Wesleyan advances to the Gold Bracket Consolation Championship, while Tarleton State is eliminated from the tournament.

Gold Bracket - Consolation Semifinal

Cal State Bakersfield 3, UC Davis 1

Alicia Castro's bases-loaded two-run single with two outs in the top of the seventh snapped a 1-1 tie as Cal State Bakersfield defeated UC Davis. After an illegal pitch call moved CSUB's runners to second and third, Christi Abshire walked to load the bases and Castro followed with a looper to short left field. UC Davis opened the scoring in the bottom of the second on back-to-back triples by Shymala White and Sharlie Cunningham. Melanie Wood pitched a five-hitter for Cal State Bakersfield, which advances to Sunday's Consolation Championship. UC Davis is eliminated from the tournament.

Silver Bracket - First Round

West Florida 5, Ferris State 4 (8 innings)

Krissy Styrna's two-out rbi-single capped an improbable four-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning as No. 4 West Florida defeated No. 8 Ferris State in a battle of national top 10 teams. Jaymee Kent's rbi-single in the top of the eighth snapped a 1-1 tie and helped spark a three-run inning to put Ferris State ahead 4-1. West Florida cut the lead to 4-3 on an error, back-to-back singles by Nikki Johnson and Nancy Rosado, and a run-scoring ground out by Blake Baskin. Another error brought home the tying run, setting the stage for Styrna's game-winning hit to left-center field.

Natalie Hill drove in three runs and St. Mary's used a four-run sixth inning to break open a close game and defeat Central Oklahoma. Hill's rbi-double in the top of the fifth broke a 1-1 tie, then she added a run-scoring single in the decisive sixth inning. St. Mary's committed three errors in the bottom of the fifth, but Central Oklahoma left the bases loaded.

Souteastern Oklahoma State 3, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 2

Angel Winston's rbi-single capped a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh as Southeastern Oklahoma State came back from a two-run deficit to defeat Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Katie Waldo walked with the bases loaded and nobody out in the top of the seventh to extend SIU-Edwardsville's lead to 3-1, but pitcher Starla Payne retired the side on a strikeout and a pair of pop ups to get out of the jam. Kelly Baker and Jenny Langford opened the bottom of the seventh with back-to-back doubles to cut the lead to 3-2. After an intentional walk to Adrienne Stoops and a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases, Baker scored the tying run on a ground out and Stoops scored the game-winner when Winston's opposite field line drive to right glanced off the right fielder's glove.

Becky Hanes led a 19-hit attack with four hits as St. Edward's defeated Delta State. Hanes' two-run single sparked a three-run sixth inning to give St. Edward's an eight run lead and invoke the run-rule. Sarah Limerick tossed a one-hitter for St. Edward's.

Rebecca Marianetti's single in the bottom of the ninth plated Jessica Deddoe with the winning run as Regis defeated Tarleton State. With the game tied 1-1, Alicia Petersma singled home Heather Browne in the top of the eighth to give Tarleton State a 2-1 lead, but Regis answered in the bottom of the eighth on Aimee Lee's rbi-single, her third hit and second rbi of the game.

Kennesaw State 8, Texas Wesleyan 7 (eight innings)

Pinch-runner Sue Coggles scored the game-winning run on Melissa Vansant's infield single with one out in the bottom of the eighth to lift Kennesaw State to a wild victory over Texas Wesleyan. Heather Birch's three-run homer in the first inning helped stake Kennesaw State to an early 4-1 lead. Texas Wesleyan pulled within 5-3, then took a one run lead as Michelle Betik's two-run double sparked a three-run fourth inning. Texas Wesleyan extend its lead to 7-5, but Kennesaw State tied the game in the bottom of the sixth as Teresa Eubanks singled home a run and eventually scored the tying run on a wild pitch. With one out in the bottom of the eighth and runners on first and third, Vansant beat the throw to first and Coggles scored when the throw to the plate went wide.

Cathy Jacobson scored from third on Leslie Roddy's push bunt with one out in the bottom of the ninth to lift Texas Woman's to a dramatic victory over Cal State Bakersfield. CSUB starter Melanie Wood and TWU starter Angela Burns both pitched seven innings of shutout ball to send the game into extra innings and force the internatilnal tie-breaker rule. CSUB took a 1-0 lead in the top of the eighth on Brooke Getting's rbi-single, but Sarah Dokie doubled home the tying run in the bottom of the eighth. Burns retired CSUB in order in the top of the ninth, then Jacobson beat the throw to the plate on Roddy's bunt to win the game.

A fielding error and a throwing error on the same play in the top of the fifth allowed Liana Flores to score from first for the game's only run as Texas A&M-Kingsville defeated UC Davis. Tiffany Gates' grounder was misplayed, then the throw to second went into left field, allowing Flores to score. TAMU-Kingsville pitcher Amanda Reed tossed a six-hitter and struck out the last three batters she faced to preserve the win.

Rebecca Eldridge recorded a tournament high 11 strikeouts and tossed a one-hitter to lead Abilene Chirstian to a victory over Emporia State. Eldridge struck out seven of the first 10 batters she faced. Jamie Olsen's one-out double sparked a two-run fourth inning to break a scoreless tie.

Trisha Poling and Nicole Vine opened the bottom of the third with back-to-back singles and both eventually scored to give USI a 2-1 lead. Stacy Doiron led off the top of the fourth with a double to spark the CMSU rally.

Courtney Williams tossed a two-hit shutout to lead Oklahoma Panhandle State past Wayne State. Williams struck out four and held Wayne State hitless through three innings. Tira Kissam's rbi-double in the bottom of the third broke a scoreless tie and OPSU used an error and a double by Andi Limoges to add a pair of insurance runs in the sixth.
