Ashli Barrett drove in three runs with a home run and two singles to lead the Sooners to a win over Big 12 rival Texas. Lisa Carey of the Sooners was 2-4 with two RBI with a single and a double.

LSU 100 320 0---6 11 1 Arizona State 110 002 0---4 5 1 WP - Britni Sneed (6-1) LP - Erica Beach (8-2)

Missy Hixon and Jamie Hlebechuk slammed solo homers for the Sun Devils, but it wasn't enough to overcome LSU's pesky offense. The Tigers rapped out 11 hits, all singles. Fourth-inning RBI hits by Megann Steege and Shaunte' Fremin gave the Bengals a 6-2 cushion.

Fresno State 000 000 000 01---1 2 1 Michigan 000 000 000 00---0 0 2 WP - Amanda Scott 8-2 LP - Marie Barda

Scott and Barda dueled for ten brilliant innings until FSU broke through in the eleventh, scoring the eventual game-winning on a Michigan error. For Scott, it was her second consecutive no-hitter and her third this season. She racked up a career-high 14 strikeouts in posting her seventh shutout of the season and sixth career no-hitter.

Washington 002 052 1---10 10 2 Nebraska 101 000 0---2 5 2 WP - Jennifer Spediacci LP - Penny Cope

A three-run homer by Washington's Shannon Walsh was the biggest hit in a five-run Huskies fifth inning that broke the game open.

Suzanne Olcott's fifth-inning two-run home run lifted Alabama to a come-from-behind win over Southeastern Conference rival Florida. Christy Kyle and Kristi Frenier chipped in run-scoring singles in the previous inning to wipe out an early 1-0 Florida lead.

Cal State Northridge 000 020 0---2 6 0 Utah 000 000 0---0 7 2 WP - Sarah Farnworth LP - Kristin Abrogast

Northridge scored two fifth-inning runs on a hit and two Utah errors. Matador pitcher Sarah Farnworth gave up seven hits but no bases on balls.

Florida State 000 000 0---0 4 0 Mississippi State 000 004 x---4 5 0 WP - Jennifer Pursell (7-3) LP - Jennifer Stokes (4-3)

Kasey Whitehead's two-out, grand slam home run was the difference. Jennifer Pursell limited FSU to four hits while giving up one walk and striking out five.

Boston College 000 000 0---0 6 2 Illinois-Chicago 300 100 x---4 6 0 WP - Rory Gonzales-Gould LP - Lauren Fischetti

Defense was the difference as all of UIC's runs were unearned as the result of two BC errors. Each team had six hits, but the Flames played errorless softball.

DePaul 000 001 0---1 4 0 Hofstra 000 000 0---0 5 1 WP - Lindsay Chouinard LP - Jen Smith

Jenny Davis' RBI single in the sixth allowed DePaul to advance to the semifinal round. Hofstra outhit DePaul 5-4 but left six runners on base to DePaul's three.
