Outstanding Division II Player Performances

Jenny Hill, Augustana, Junior, Right Fielder/Pitcher (Sioux Falls, SD)

Jenny hit safely in all of Augustana's 12 games last week, accumulating 18 hits in 42 tries, including 3 doubles, a home run, and 11 RBI's. Her batting average for this week was .429, just slightly off her year to date average of .433. In addition to playing right field, Jenny helps out with the pitching duties, and threw 5 innings with an ERA of 0.81, which is her over-all ERA. She helped Augustana to an 11-1 run in the Rebel Spring Games. Her fielding percentage was .900 with 1 error, 1 assist, and 9 put outs.

Sandy Morgan, West Florida, Senior, Pitcher (Las Vegas, NV)

Sandy Morgan led UWF to a 9-0 record from Mar. 20 to Mar 26. She pitched four complete games in four starts and also picked up a win in relief. She had two shutouts. The gem of the week came in her first outing, when she struck out 18 Railsplitters as UWF beat Lincoln Memorial 1-0 in nine innings. The 18 Ks tie a UWF school record and are second all-time in the Gulf South Conference. The only runs Morgan allowed were single runs in each game as she beat No. 19 South Carolina-Spartanburg (30-4) twice, winning 2-1 and 4-1. Morgan currently leads the Gulf South Conference with 17 wins and 152 strikeouts.

Danielle McRae, Southern Arkansas, Freshman, Second Base

Danielle McRae, who had missed the previous 12 games with a concussion, returned to the lineup and set a school record with five consecutive base hits. The fifth hit was the most important, scoring the game-winning run against Centenary.

Lane Davis, Alabama-Huntsville, First Base/Pitcher

Lane Davis hit a game-winning home run in the bottom of the seventh inning in the Lady Chargers' win over North Alabama. Later in the week, Davis tossed a three-hit shutout and struck out nine in UAH's 4-0 win over No. 6 Armstrong Atlantic State.
