Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week

North Dakota State University shortstop Nikki Flynn-Gregg is the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week of March 27-April 2.

Flynn-Gregg, a senior from Esko, Minn., broke two Division II records in one day as she became the all-time leader in career runs and hits. Flynn-Gregg, who tied the career runs record Saturday against Augustana (SD), scored her record-breaking 242nd run Sunday against Washburn. Later that day against Augustana, Flynn-Gregg recorded her 375th career hit to become the Division II career hits leader.

The career runs record was previously held by Jessie Johnson (1994-97) of Wisconsin-Parkside, while the hits record was held by Jackie Aiken (1994-97), also of Wisconsin-Parkside.

For the week, Flynn-Gregg hit safely in all eight games, batting .520 (13-for-25) with a triple, three doubles and seven runs scored. She also tallied five stolen bases last week to give her 205 for her career and move her within 15 stolen bases of breaking the Division II career record.

North Dakota State, ranked No. 7 in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, posted a 7-1 record last week and captured first place at the University of Nebraska-Omaha League of Their Own Tournament over the weekend. The Bison improved to 29-4 overall.
