St. Martin’s Eugenio, St. Edward’s Debrow Garner Louisville Slugger NFCA Division II Nat'l Accolades

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Joslyn Eugenio of Saint Martin’s and Sarah Debrow of St. Edward’s have been selected as the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player and Pitcher of the Week for April 17, respectively.

A senior pitcher/first baseman from Kapolei, Hawai’i, Eugenio put together an impressive week, hitting .625 (10-for-16) with nine runs scored, a pair of doubles, two HR’s and 10 RBIs while tallying 18 total bases, a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .647 on-base mark.  With the two doubles she improved her career total to 61, making her the all-time leader in that category in Great Northwest Athletic Conference history.  Among her top performances was a perfect 3-for-3 effort with three tallies, a double, a HR and four RBIs during a victory over Western Oregon and a 3-for-3 contest with a pair of runs scored, a HR and four more RBIs in a triumph over MSU-Billings. The GNAC Player of the Week currently guides the league in batting average (.401), total hits (57) and RBI (39), while rating third in total bases (82), fifth in doubles (tied with 11) and slugging percentage (.577) and ninth in on-base percentage (.411).

Debrow truly had a weekend to remember from the circle for St. Edward’s, posting a perfect 3-0 mark with a 0.36 ERA, a no-hitter, a perfect game (against then-No. 2 West Texas A&M) and 22 strikeouts over 19 innings of effort. The reigning Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week christened her efforts by no-hitting Texas A&M International, walking one and K’ing nine during a 4-0, complete-game victory. Following another triumph over Texas A&M Int’l (allowed one run on six hits over seven innings), she closed out her weekend by facing the minimum of 15 batters and striking out three during an 8-0 (5 inn.) perfect game win over then-No. 2 West Texas A&M. Debrow currently guides the St. Edward’s pitching staff with a 17-7 overall record, a 2.24 ERA and 171 strikeouts over 156.1 innings of effort.
