Wallace State, LSU-Eunice and Herkimer Take NJCAA Softball Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - This past weekend at three separate sites across the country, Wallace State Community College-Hanceville (NJCAA-I), LSU-Eunice (NJCAA-II) and Herkimer (NJCAA-III) each won their division's respective NJCAA National Softball Championship.

No. 8-seed Wallace State Community College-Hanceville (Ala.) won its second-ever NJCAA Division I Softball Championship as the Lions registered a 7-3 victory over No. 2-seed Salt Lake Community College (Utah) on Sat., May 18, at the Canyons Complex in St. George, Utah. For information on Wallace State's win in the Division I tournament click here.

This time last season, the LSU-Eunice softball team was heading into the locker room after dropping back-to-back games to Phoenix College (Ariz.) in the NJCAA DII Softball National Championship. On Sat., May 18, at Traceway Park in Clinton, Miss., the Bengals avenged last year’s title-round defeat with an 8-0 victory over the Phoenix Bears for their second national championship. For info on LSU-Eunice's win in the Division II tournament click here.

Herkimer County Community College (N.Y.) won its first national championship in Division III softball on Sat., May 18, with a 5-2 victory over top-seed Brookdale Community College (N.J.) on a rain-soaked surface at the McQuillan Softball Complex in Rochester, Minn. For info on Herkimer's win in the Division III tournament click here.
