Northern (Md.) Continues Its Stay at No. 1 in the USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Northern (Md.) posted a 2-0 mark in postseason action last week to stay at the top of the latest USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 poll released by the Association on Thursday.

Holding tight in the second position was John Curtis (LA) (32-1), while Logan (Calif.) (23-1) also remained steady in its No. 3 spot after defeating Irvington to advance in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs.

Rounding out the top five in the latest poll is Mission Viejo (Calif.) (26-1) and Bishop O’Connell (Va.) (30-1) at fourth and fifth, respectively.

There was some movement in the latter part of the rankings this week but no teams either entered or dropped out of the new poll.

The USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 poll is compiled by state representatives from across the country.  Records for this week’s poll include all games played through May 21, 2013.
