Conference Polls Help Usher In New Season

With the start of the 2010 season right around the corner, several NCAA Division I conferences have already released their preseason coaches polls. 

Below is a list of conferences that have released their preseason polls. To view the complete release for any conference, simply click the link at the end of each article. 

Atlantic 10 - Massachusetts was chosen by the coaches of the A10 as the favorite to win this year’s conference crown, which would be its sixth. Charlotte follows UMass in second place, while Fordham, Saint Louis and Saint Joseph’s round out the top five. Full A10 Article 

Big East – In a race that was separated by just 12 points between the top three teams, Louisville is tabbed to win its fourth Big East championship. DePaul finished just six points behind the Cardinals in second place, while Notre Dame came in six points behind the Blue Demons in third. Full Big East Article 

Big 12 – Oklahoma edged out Missouri by just four points to be picked to win its fourth Big 12 title. This marks the second consecutive year that the two teams were selected to finish the season in first and second places, respectively. Full Big 12 Article 

Ohio Valley – One year after receiving the first at-large bid to the NCAA tournament in OVC history, Jacksonville State was chosen as the favorite to win conference gold this season. Last year’s OVC tournament champion, Tennessee-Martin, finished the vote in second place, while Southeast Missouri and Tennessee Tech complete the top four.
