Piedmont’s Scott Named MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week (Sept. 9-15)
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kassidy Scott of Piedmont High School in Piedmont, Okla., has been selected as the MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week for games stretching from September 9-15.
Scott guided the Wildcats offensively by posting a .750 batting average (12-for-16) with 10 runs scored, two doubles, two triples, two HR’s and 11 RBIs. The sophomore also managed a perfect 2-0 pitching mark and a 0.00 ERA, allowing just a single hit and striking out 13 of the 19 batters she faced over six total innings of work. She managed at least two hits at the plate during all five of Piedmont’s weekly match-ups with 3-for-4 efforts during wins over Bishop McGuinness (13-2) and Northwest Classen (17-2).
For the year Scott owns a .565 batting mark with 22 tallies, six doubles, four triples, six HR’s and 31 RBIs, while possessing a 6-3 pitching record with a 0.76 ERA and 55 K’s over 46 frames.

To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete's game stats into MaxPreps.com by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week’s award.
The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Players of the Week will be announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the spring season, with one representative chosen from each of five separate high school regions. During the fall campaign, just a single player will be selected representing all participating regions.

Coaches who enter their team’s stats on Max Preps will not only be nominating their players for this award, but they will be getting their team’s information out to thousands of high school sports fans, as well as college coaches across the country.
