Kelly’s Dock Named MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Alexis Dock of Kelly High School in Benton, Mo., has been selected as the MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week for games contested over October 7-13.
Over the past week, Dock was 6-for-8 at the plate for a .750 batting average with five runs scored, two walks, a double and four RBIs, while also posting a 3-0 pitching record with a 0.00 ERA and 24 strikeouts over 19 innings of work. The sophomore pitcher/second baseman’s finest hitting effort occurred during an 11-1 rout of St. Vincent (Mo.) as she went a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish with a double and three tallies scored. Dock also struck out at least 10 batters in a single game for the third time in 2013 by hitting double figures during a complete-game, 3-0 blanking of Jackson (Mo.).
For the year Dock’s hitting at a .556 overall clip with five doubles, two triples, three HR’s and 24 RBIs, while in possession of a 9-3 pitching mark, a 1.25 ERA and 96 K’s over 89.1 innings of effort.

To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete's game stats into MaxPreps.com by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week’s award.
The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Players of the Week will be announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the spring season, with one representative chosen from each of five separate high school regions. During the fall campaign, just a single player will be selected representing all participating regions.

Coaches who enter their team’s stats on Max Preps will not only be nominating their players for this award, but they will be getting their team’s information out to thousands of high school sports fans, as well as college coaches across the country.
