NFCA Names PA Renegades ‘98 the 2013 Travel Ball National Coaching Staff of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The PA Renegades ‘98, led by head coach Art “Dutch” Harvey and assisted by Jimbo Barry and Bryan Myers have been named recipients of the 2013 NFCA Travel Ball National Coaching Staff of the Year award.

The 14U team, based out of Elizabeth, Pa., went 84-8 this season, claiming eight titles along the way. Three of their championships came playing up in 16U tournaments. They also became the first Pennsylvania team to win the 2013 Triple Crown Sports East Coast Nationals in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Renegades staff is all volunteers and spends numerous hours coaching and advising players on the team. The dedication to their success is second to none, and it shows in how the girls play and live life. There is a mutual respect between the players and the coaching staff, and the result is success.

“Our kids have played together since they were 12, and we have the right group of people and families to be successful,” Harvey said. “Our parents are super supporters, and we really travel as a family and stress the family atmosphere, which helps create a winning environment.

“I never thought a team from Pennsylvania would win this award, I’m really happy for our kids, staff and families.”

The PA Renegades ’98 will move up and play mostly 18U tournaments next season due to the success they had playing at the 16U level.

The NFCA Travel Ball National Coaching Staff of the Year award is presented annually to the top member coaching staff as voted on by the Association’s travel ball membership.
