NFCA Announces 2014 High School All-Region Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association is proud to release the 2014 High School All-Region teams. Overall, 160 players from 92 different institutions comprised first and second team squads chosen from the East, North, South, South Central and West regions.

Alexander Central High School in North Carolina and Baker High in Alabama — both members of the South region — garnered the most representatives, with five apiece. Three of Alexander Central’s honorees made the first team, while four of Baker’s selections were on the second team.

Other teams leading their regions were Immaculate Heart Academy of New Jersey (East), Keystone High in Ohio (North), Texas’ Deer Park High and Kansas’ Washburn Rural High (both South Central) and Oaks Christian School in California (West). All five schools had four choices each, with Keystone placing all four of its selected players on the first team. Immaculate Heart Academy and Deer Park, meanwhile, each had three of its four make the first team.

The All-Region teams are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the five high school regions. All first team All-Region choices are eligible to be considered for the NFCA High School All-America teams, which will be announced on June 24 via NFCA.org.
