Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player Of The Week

University of Wisconsin-Parkside pitcher Amanda Fitzgerald is the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week of April 10-16.

Fitzgerald, a freshman from Byron, Mich., tied a Division II single-game record with 23 strikeouts in a 15-inning marathon against No. 18 nationally ranked Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Fitzgerald pitched all 15 innings, walking none and allowing an unearned run in the 1-0 loss, her only loss of the week.

Fitzgerald posted a 3-1 record last week, with a 0.00 ERA, (one unearned run) 47 strikeouts and no walks in 30 innings pitched. She recorded a pair of victories over then-Great Lakes Valley Conference leader Southern Indiana and a win over No. 9 nationally ranked Lewis.

Fitzgerald's performance helped Wisconsin-Parkside improve to 31-10 overall and 16-3 in the GLVC, moving the Rangers into first place in the conference standings.
