Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of the Week

UCLA pitcher Amanda Freed is this week's Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of the Week.

In UCLA's split of its two-game Pac-10 series at No. 1 ranked Washington over the weekend, Freed pitched 12 of a possible 13 innings and led the team with a .429 batting average. The Bruins dropped a 3-1 decision to the Huskies on Friday, but came back with a 1-0 win the next day.

In the circle, Freed gave up six hits and three runs while striking out eleven and holding the Huskies to a .150 team batting average. She ended Saturday's game in dramatic fashion with a bases-loaded, two-out strikeout.

At the plate, Freed led off both games with hits, compiling three total hits in seven at bats. She was also perfect defensively on six chances.
