Alabama-Huntsville and Angelo State led all schools with six players named first-team All-Region as the2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Teams were announced by the association today.

In the Great Lakes Region, Missouri S&T had three first-teamers to lead the way in the region with 2B Kandi Weiberg, 3B Kelsey Musselman and OF Emily Tucker on the first team. Defending NCAA Champion and Great Lakes Regional host SIU-Edwardsville placed pitcher Kaitlin Colosimo on the first team and had four second-team selections with 1B Mallory Ruggles, SS Kaeleigh Rousey, 3B Lauren Zembruski and OF Nicole Beecher named to the second team.
Lock Haven, the top team in this week’s NFCA Top 25 Poll and the top seed in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, placed four players on the first team with pitcher Kristen Erb, C Amanda Roosa, 3B Sarah Norris and OF Erica Eisenbise.
Three schools placed two players on the North Central Region first team. Top seeded and North Central Regional host Emporia State had P Samantha Sheeley and 1B Jennifer Dace. Fourth seed Nebraska-Omaha had 2B Treightin Yates and 3B Leslie Svoboda, while fifth seed Minnesota State Mankato had OF Lynndi Decker and DP Abby Morris named to the first team.
LIU-C.W. Post, the top seed and host school for the Northeast Regional, led the way in that region with four selections including P Samantha Yodowitz, 1B Holly Eringis, SS Christie Softy and OF Melissa Medina.
The second-ranked team in this week’s NFCA Poll, Alabama-Huntsville dominates the South Region first team placing six players on that list. The Chargers had P Sage Woodham, C Krystal Johnson, 3B Amy Harris, outfielders Kristina Prater and Marilyn Cooper and Utility/Pitcher Caitlin Lee named to the first team.
The host school and second seed in the South Atlantic Region, UNC-Pembroke leads the way with three first-team selections in the South Atlantic Region with P Martika Elmore, 3B Jelena Shaw and OF Brittany Berrier on that list.
Angelo State, the top seed and host of the South Central Region placed a nation-leading six players on their regional first-team including P Kari Galm, 1B Brittney Cargill, SS Macy Baker, OF Whitney Meeks, DP Kristin Frye and Util/Non-Pitcher Kaycee Taylor.
Humboldt State is the top seed and host school for the West Regional and had five selections to the regional first team including P Lizzy Prescott, C Melissa Slattery, 1B Natalle Galletly, OF Nikki Ketteringham and Util/Non-Pitcher Francesca West.
The 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America Team will be named on Tuesday, May 13.
