Phoenix Leads Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division II All-America Selections

2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division II All-America Teams 

Phoenix College placed four players on the first team to lead all schools as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division II All-America Teams Friday afternoon. 

Lansing Community College followed right behind Phoenix with three first-team honorees, while Johnson County, Iowa Lakes and Muscatine each landed a pair of players on the squad. Cowley County landed one player, pitcher Heather Davis, on the fist team. 

Phoenix put pitcher Patricia Moreno on the first team along infielders Kailey Yarmer and Natalie Heeley, and outfielder Jamie Hennis. 

Pitcher Tammi Filkins joined infielder Heaather Brusokas and outfielder Cirina Jones as Lansing’s first-team all-America selections. 

Iowa Lakes outfielder Ashley Souphimdara, in addition to first team all-America accolades, also garnered the adidas Golden Shoe Award for the division after stealing 45 of 47 bases. Infielder Kimmie White joined her on the first team. 

Johnson County placed pitcher Emily Dye on the first team along with infielder Krista Cummings, while Muscatine outfielder Mallory Manning and designated player/utility selection Katelyn Watkinson garnered first-team accolades. 

Chandler-Gilbert landed catcher Renee Welty on the first team, and she also earned Diamond Sports Catcher of the Year accolades. Cowley County also had one first-team selection, with pitcher Heather Davis receiving the nod.
