Arizona Remains Atop NFCA Simulated RPI

2007 NFCA Simulated Ratings Percentage Index

Arizona remained atop the 2007 NFCA Simulated Ratings Percentage Index for the third straight week, the association announced Monday.

The Wildcats lead the poll, which is compiled weekly by mathematician Warren Nolan, with a .6891 rating. Records for the ratings include games through Apr. 16.

The Wildcats, which hold the top strength of schedule as well, are one of two Pac-10 squads in the top 10 again this week, joining Arizona State, which comes in at No. 10.

The SEC and Big 12 once again placed three teams each in the top 10. Alabama remained second to lead the SEC squads, with Tennessee at No. 4 and LSU at No. 8.

Texas A&M led the Big 12 contingent as the Aggies ranked third. Oklahoma came in at No. 7, while Baylor matched its ascent up the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Softball Poll with a move up the RPI to ninth.

Big 10 foes Michigan and Northwestern round out the top 10, with the Wolverines coming in a notch ahead of the Wildcats at No. 5.

The Pac-10 continued to top the conference RPI, with the SEC coming in at No. 2 followed by the Big 12 and ACC.
