Skills Measured on Camp Day

For ALL Administered Camps (Classic, Academic & EXCEL):

Measureable Skills


  1. Pitcher’s throwing speeds & spin measurements.
  2. Catcher’s pop to pop times
  3. Overhand Throwing Velocity measured by a radar gun
  4. Ball Exit Speed measured by radar gun
  5. Vertical Jump measured by Just Jump System or Vertec
  6. Speed measured by 20-yard sprint using timing eye
  7. Agility measured by shuttle run using timing eye
  8. Muscular Strength measured by the grip strength dynamometer


Non-Measurable Skills: Only applies to Classic and Academic Camps

The NFCA Administered Camp athlete will showcase non-measurable skills for evaluation by college coaches. These skills are fielding and throwing from the primary/secondary position and hitting.

Each athlete will take balls from the primary/secondary position and throw to the designated base or cut and each athlete will get 10-14 swings off a pitching machine set at 57-59 MPH.
