NFCA Hall of Fame

The most prestigious award given by the NFCA. The NFCA inducts members into its Hall of Fame each December at the National Convention. Nominations are available each fall and inductees are selected by the Awards and Hall of Fame Committee. A listing of the selection criteria can be found here. NFCA Regional and National Coaching Staffs of the Year

The NFCA recognizes regional and national coaching excellence in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III, Cal JC, NWAC, High School and Travel Ball. All NFCA-member coaches are eligible each season.

NFCA All-Region and All-American Teams

Awarded in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Division I, II, and III, Cal JC, NWAC and High School. NFCA-member coaches may nominate their players each spring.

NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and Top 10 Academic Teams

Athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale are recognized as NFCA Scholar Athletes. The NFCA recognizes the top 10 academic teams (by overall GPA) each fall through the Easton/NFCA Top 10 Academic Team program.

Diamond Sports Catcher of The Year Award

The top catchers in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divsions I, II, and III, Cal JC, NWAC and High School are recognized with the Diamond Sports Catcher of the Year Award.

Golden Shoe Award

The top speedsters in the nation are recognized with the Golden Shoe Award. These athletes are selected by NFCA divisional committees in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Cal JC, NWAC and High School.

Easton/NFCA Assistant Coach of the Year

The top assistant coaches in the nation are recognized with this award. These coaches are selected by NFCA divisional committees in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I and II, and High School.

Donna Newberry Award

The award, named for the longtime Muskingum College and 2008 NFCA Hall of Fame coach who died in November 2010 after amassing a 906-419-1 mark over 36 seasons, recognizes an NFCA member coach who has demonstrated extraordinary strength of will and character in the fight to overcome a physical, mental or social adversity that presented an additional challenge to the already demanding job of a coach.

Schutt Sports / NFCA Player of the Year

Each year, the top player in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior College (NJCAA Divsions I, II, and III, Cal JC, NWAC) are recognized with the Schutt Sports / NFCA Player of the Year Award.

Each year, the top freshman in NCAA Divisions I, II and III are recognized with the Schutt Sports / NFCA Freshman of the Year Award.

Mary Nutter Scholarship

The educational grant, named for the former Pittsburg State (Kan.) head coach and 1997 NFCA Hall of Fame inductee who founded National Sports Clinics, seeks to continue Nutter’s effort to provide softball coaches at all levels access to the best minds in the sport to help them become better coaches themselves. Recipients receive funding to attend the NFCA National Convention.

Diversity Grant

The grant, created by the NFCA’s Diversity Committee, is awarded to a minority member coach who shows a commitment to working with minorities and growing the game of fastpitch in their communities and has a need for financial assistance to attend the convention.
