LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Tuckahoe’s (N.Y.) Cassie McGrath, Holy Redeemer’s (Pa.) Morgan Bienkowski, Handley’s (Ala.) Addie Robinson, East Carter’s (Ky.) Montana Fouts and Fontuna’s (Calif.) Hailey Dolcini were selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week winners for their outstanding play during the week of May 8-14.

East Region
McGrath was a force in the circle and at the plate for the Tigers, going 9-for-12 (.750) and winning five games. The senior had six runs, seven doubles, a homer and 11 runs batted in on offense and went 5-1 with five complete games and 71 strikeouts over 34 innings on defense. In a 13-1 win over Schechter, McGrath fanned 18 and pitched an one-hitter. She also had a no-hitter (10 strikeouts) and a two-hitter (13 strikeouts) in a pair over lopsided victories over Yonkers Montessori.

North Region
Bienkowski was virtually unhittable over the past week, going 3-0 and allowing just one hit in four appearances, including two no-hitters. The junior allowed no runs and just one walk while striking out 47 over 18 innings. She fanned 14 against both Wyoming Seminary College Prep and Northwest Area, and struck out 12 versus GAR Memorial.

South Region
Robinson hit .667 (8-for-12) with seven runs, a double, four homers and 11 RBI for the week. She hit in four of her five contests, with three multi-hit games, including a single, double, homer and six RBI in a 17-5 win over Saks.

South Central Region
Fouts struck out 60 batters in just 27 innings of work, fanning at least 12 in all four of her games, including 18 in a two-hitter against Lafayette and 17 in a no-hitter versus Russell. She allowed a total of five hits and three runs (none earned), while walking six. The junior also helped herself at the plate, going 10-for-13 (.769) with a double, homer and four RBI.

West Region
As great as Dolcini was at the plate, going 9-for-12 (.750) with eight runs, two triples, a homer and four RBI, she was even better in the circle. The senior pitched two no-hitters and a two-hitter among her three wins over Arcata last week, allowing zero runs and one walk, while striking out 48 in just 17 innings. In the first two games, Dolcini fanned 15, and she collected 18 strikeouts in the third.
