St. Joseph's Jennifer Martinez has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week ending April 22, the association announced Wednesday. The junior pitcher led the Golden Eagles to a 7-1 week, including a a perfect 6-0 in Skyline Conference play. 

Martinez was 7-0 from the rubber for the week, including three shutouts. She gave up only two earned runs in 42 innings of work while striking out an incredible 97 batters (16.2 per game). 

The Bay Shore, N.Y., native was also a force at the plate, batting .571 with eight runs scored, 15 RBIs, three doubles and three home runs. 

On the season, Martinez leads the Golden Eagles in batting average (.486), RBIs (27), home runs (7) and total bases (70). In the circle, she is currently 18-3 with a 0.52 ERA and has 291 K's in 135.1 innings of work.
