Learn valuable drills and tips from some of the best speakers in softball today. Veteran coaches and national experts tell their secrets of the game.

Take part in the convention mentoring session as either a mentor or participant. Arranged in a roundtable session, mentors and their groups discuss important coaching topics, followed by question and answer.

•    The Latest Innovations in Softball Equipment:
More than 100 different companies are expected for the Exhibitor Show, December 4-5. Learn about the newest in softball training technology & apparel.

•    Forums To Discuss Changes and Future of the Sport:
Thursday and Friday will feature business meetings for the individual membership groups. All NFCA members are welcome to share ideas to the entire membership at the Softball Summit on Friday afternoon.

•    Extend Your Learning Advantage with a Convention NFCC Course:
Get the full impact of your learning opportunities by taking an NFCC course in conjunction with the convention. Advanced Analysis of Hitting, Pitching & Short-Game Skills (Course 402) and Solid Team Defense & Strategy (Course 404) will be held before the convention on December 1-2, while The Art of Championship Coaching (Course 401) and Explosive Team Offense & Strategy (Course 405) will be offered immediately following the convention on December 6-8.

"Building & Sustaining a Championship Culture: How to Create a Winning Culture of Commitment & Accountability"

Pre-Convention Seminar, Wednesday, Dec. 3, Noon-4 p.m. - Presented by Jeff Janssen — Janssen Sports Leadership Center.

Widely considered one of the world’s top experts on Sports Leadership, Jeff Janssen is the founder and president of the Janssen Sports Leadership Center. Jeff’s pioneering work on sports leadership development with student-athletes and coaches has led to the creation of cutting edge Leadership Academies at Michigan, North Carolina, Illinois, Notre Dame, LSU, Baylor, Houston, Arkansas, Pitt, NC State, Colgate, Lafayette, Holy Cross, George Washington, Colby, Fordham, Boston University, Colorado, Loyola, and Lehigh. He has worked with over 25 different teams that have won NCAA national championships so he knows what it takes to build and sustain a championship culture.

A prolific author, Janssen has authored numerous books including “The Team Captain’s Leadership Manual,”“Championship Team Building,”“The Commitment Continuum System,”“How to Build a Championship Culture,”“How to Develop Relentless Competitors,” and “The Seven Secrets of Successful Coaches.”

 

Seminar Details

In this special four hour pre-convention session, Janssen will take coaches through proven, innovative methods to help coaches build a program culture of commitment and accountability. The following four areas will be covered:

•      Create a culture of commitment and accountability in your program
•      Establish high standards of behavior that will hold people accountable
•      Develop a winning culture using the “Six Key Components of Championship Cultures”
•      Create a winning culture that attracts high level talent and quality athletes & staff

The program provides you with a “Championship Culture” blueprint to help you build and sustain a winning culture within your program. This proven process takes you step by step through what you need to do to build a culture of success. You will learn how to get everyone to understand, fully buy in, and passionately live your “Championship Culture” on a daily basis.

 

Mentoring Session - Powered by NCSA

The 2014 NFCA National Convention will once again offer The Mentoring Session from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 4. Although young head and assistant coaches are encouraged to attend, anyone who thinks it would be beneficial is welcome to take part.

Originated at the 2010 convention in San Diego, The Mentoring Session has been a huge hit and one of the most popular features of the convention.

How to Register

General Registration — Please note that the convention fees are all-inclusive, except for the optional preconvention seminar (Wednesday, December 3) and the Wilson Golf Scramble (Tuesday, December 2). The NFCC Coaches College courses being held in conjunction with the convention require additional fees. Your convention registration fee covers all events except those mentioned above, through the afternoon of Saturday, December 6; this includes all receptions, luncheons, banquets and breakfasts.

Friday/Saturday Registration Only — For high school and travel ball coaches only able to attend Friday and Saturday, we are offering a special two-day only Early Bird Special rate – $275 for NFCA members and $475 for non-members. (You can join on the registration form to get the lower rate and receive NFCA membership benefits, including 12 issues of our official newspaper Fastpitch Delivery.) The two-day only rate includes breakfast Friday and Saturday, and clinic sessions. Two-day registrants who wish to attend the Friday night NFCA Hall of Fame Banquet may buy a ticket for $60 (please see form).

NFCA Attendee Refund PolicyCancellations received prior to November 20 will receive a full refund, minus an administrative fee of $50. Cancellations between November 21-27 will receive a one-half refund. There will be no refunds for cancellations after November 27.

Dress Code: The NFCA National Convention is casual, except the NFCA Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, December 5. The attire for this prestigious event is dressy.
